ABOUT US The Anthology Story
Inspired by her mother's sense of style and her father's entrepreneurial ways, Melissa created Anthology LLC in 1999.
Since the age of five, while dressing Barbie and drawing fashion sketches, she knew one day she would have her own store. In middle school her entrepreneurial spirit developed while shopping during the summer and creating style ideas for the end of summer fashion show within her small community. Melissa graduated college with a psychology degree and worked in finance obtaining loans for small businesses for about three years. While working full time, she attended FIT and Parsons to seek out what came natural to her: dressing others.
Finally, after developing and helping so many of her friends and family with their style choices, Melissa decided to open Anthology. A place like home where one can find the newest trends at reasonable prices. She chose the name Anthology based on the Webster dictionary definition, "a selected collection of...," which defines the stores philosophy. "A collection of the latest trends at reasonable prices." Keeping these things in mind, Anthology was created with its first location being in Westfield, NJ. In 2006, Melissa decided it was time to expand so she opened Anthology II in Hoboken, NJ.
Most of the time you will find Melissa working at the stores with her friendly stylish staff, but if not, know she is traveling far and wide finding the hottest new trends for you!
