In 1999, after many years with fashion and business on her mind, Melissa combined her mother’s sense of style, and her father’s business instincts, and created Anthology LLC.

After graduating college with a psychology degree, Melissa worked in finance for about three years obtaining loans for small businesses. While working full time, she knew where her passions really lay. She attended FIT and Parsons to seek out what came natural to her - dressing others!

Since the age of five, dressing Barbie and drawing fashion sketches were her thing, and she knew one day she would have her own store. In middle school, during summers spent shopping, she developed her skills by creating style ideas for the end of summer fashion shows for her small community in which she grew up.

After so many moments of shopping, developing and helping all of her friends and family with style ideas, she decided to create Anthology - a place like home where one can find the newest trends. Melissa chose the name Anthology from the Webster Dictionary description: “A select collection” - which clearly defines the store’s philosophy: “LIFE IS A COLLECTION OF MOMENTS”

Keeping that in mind, Anthology was created with the purpose to enhance these moments of our lives with styish items - to be collected over a period of time
